St Ann's

Offical review. A short ride starting close to the City Centre which climbs east to the top of Nottingham City via an off road cycle path, it's worth the climb with great views at the top. The route then goes along the tree lined back streets of Mapperley before a lovely coast down hill & returning back to St Ann's Valley Centre. Personal view. Easygoing is a description of attitude not terrain. I'd classify this as an achiever route, working both ends of your gear range. The route is ideal regular trainer, for long ride (who put that hill there) preparation, or those (anger management venting) pedal bashing times. Expect to be at walking pace during some sections, (either on or beside the bike). This is the most difficult of the Nottingham Skyride short routes, and in terms of hills, is par with any of the most difficult routes, while being less than 5 miles long. If you own a mountain bike. Trail bike, Or hybrid. The is where you can put it (& you) to the test. If anybody is interested, I'll see you there, or can meet earlier at monument on the embankment, let me know thou. If I, and I probably will, take my road bike, there's a good chance I'll be among the walker pushers!
