Thanks are due to London Cycling Campaign https://lcc.org.uk/ for this charming route through the cycle-friendly streets of Islington and Hackney. We begin at Kings Cross by the birdcage at the rear of the station and travel north and east to visit Georgian and Tudor-style squares, a couple of secret passages and the former Arsenal Stadium. This area has benefited from much investment in cycle infrastructure, giving a pleasant and safe experience on quiet streets. Our coffee stop is near the end of the ride - Luminary Bakery, a social enterprise providing training and work experience to women, with excellent cakes: https://luminarybakery.com. Bring water, a bike lock, a snack and card for the cafe. Helmets are a matter of personal choice. If coming by train you can take, for example, the 0815 from Pinner or 0820 from Harrow on the Hill arriving at KX 0846. This is a slow sightseeing ride with plenty of stops to look at places of interest.
