We will meet at Hamilton Square rail station. Trains are regular from Liverpool. We will then head north and follow the Wirral coastal path through New Brighton and round the headland to West Kirkby. There we will join the Wirral Way disused rail line, and cycle to our cafe stop in Neston. From there, we ride alongside the River Dee path and into the historic city of Chester.

Part of our Breeze ride series, "Spring Into Summer", this is a great ride on cycle trails to build up the miles for the summer! We will be riding one way only from Hamilton Square Station to Chester. Return journey must be at the riders own arrangement. Trains run regularly from Chester back up the Wirral and over to Liverpool.

The route is almost completely traffic-free, using the Wirral coastal path, the Wirral Way and the River Dee cycle path into Chester. Great for those who are less confident about riding in traffic.

We will be stopping for well-earned refreshments at Netts Cafe on the Wirral Way near Neston.

The Wirral Way can get a bit muddy and slippery if it has been raining, so I would recommend a bike with wider tyres and mudguards. Suitable clothing and waterproofs are recommended.

Although this ride is quite long for first timers, it is flat and on traffic-free paths. If you feel you can do the distance then come and give it a try. If not, then look for our Friday rides which are a bit shorter around the city of Liverpool.
