Starting from - The Mucky Mountains car park. The post code WA12 8RA is for The Linear Park Care Home - a single track access road down to The Mucky Mountains car park is at the side of it. Car park is FREE. No toilets.
NB - HEIGHT RESTRICTED BARRIER to the access road, but there is on street parking just before it. WA12 8RA

Next week is forecast to be bright and dry - whoohoo! A fabulous, flat ride that is almost entirely off road. We'll be cycling on canal towpaths through Sankey Valley and the Trans Pennine Trail. The route is steeped in industrial history and there's lots of wildlife to spot (heron at every turn on the recce!) We pass several disused canal locks, park land, Fiddler's Ferry Marina and disused (soon to be demolished) Power Station, the Mersey Estuary and ride beneath the spectacular Mersey Gateway Bridge before arriving at Spike Island for our brew stop. Stunning scenery and super surfaces on this 'there and back ' ride. And an added bonus - the awful A frames have been removed!
