Spey Side Way Gravel Getaway

We leave the car park at the old station in craigellachie heading west, it’s a very gradual climb route, following the river Spey, we pass through Aberlour over a narrow bridge where we will get off our bikes and walk across, passed the old Dailuaine railway siding, then next we cycle passed Carron then on passed Knockando Distillery and Tamdhu Distillery, then it’s on passed Blackboat station before reaching our destination of Ballindalloch station, where we’ll have a drink and snack before heading back to Aberlour for a cuppa and fine piece, when we come back into Craigellachie we can take a look at the old iconic road bridge that’s no longer in use but if you want you can cycle over it and back again or take some photos before heading back to the car park.

This ride will take in some spectacular views of the river Spey as well as passing old railway stations, and the Knockando Distillery and the Tamdhu Distillery.

We will be cycling on the old railway line which has a very good smooth Gravel surface, we don’t go on any roads.

Plenty of stops to take in the views or take photos, have a drink or a sweetie.

Helmets are a must, water, snack, sunscreen (if it’s a sunny day) money/card sun glasses.
