Andrews Park

If you're fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour. This 12 mile ride is calming and peaceful from start to end. Heading out from the Andrews Park Peace Fountain, the route uses the newly opened Sustrans traffic free boardwalk running alongside the picturesque River Itchen, through the award winning green flag Riverside Park, and then on to Itchen Valley country park. Following traffic-free paths and roads, the ride has plenty of interest along the way including the Peace Fountain, the Titanic Memorial, the Boardwalk, river wildlife, the park visitor centre and café. Here you can stop for a rest and a drink before making the return journey back to Southampton.
