This is a ride for experienced, confident cyclists who enjoy riding that little bit faster! We will meet another group of ladies at The Red Lion in Earlswood at 10.30. If you want to meet us there for a shorter ride, sign up then let me know (that would make it a ride of 38 miles from the Red Lion). The route is on mainly country lanes. We will be passing some bluebell woods and lots of trees in blossom so it promises to be a very pretty route. There will be a stop at Mary Arden's House for coffee and cake or (Tudor) lunch at about the halfway point. We aim to ride at a comfortable pace of 11mph on road or hybrid bikes. As it is our longer ride this is suitable for regular riders with a good level of fitness. There is the option of reducing the miles by catching the train back from Wilmcote station which is the main Stratford to Birmingham line stopping at Earlswood, Shirley and Yardley Wood. The station is by the house and so you will still get to join us for coffee and cake! Bring a spare inner tube, a pump, a lock, waterproofs (depending on the forecast) and some money for our stop. There are no major hills on this ride. Message me if you want to know more and I'll ring you back. Joan
