Beautiful route winding up the Swansea valley - the majority on cycle path - there will be some stretches where we need to cross the town to connect to the cycle path - we will stop and talk our way through this section before we go and stick together on the stretches. The route is slightly uphill for the first half but this does mean it’s all down hill for the second half. We will go at a relaxed place so plenty of time to chat and take in the wonderful scenery. There is a stretch of down hill cycling on an a- road this is a stretch with plenty of space for cars to pass by and can be very enjoyable - we will all wait for anyone who wants to take this hill more slowly.

Intermediate route mostly on cycle paths but one stretch on road- mostly a gentle climb along cycle paths up the Swansea valley but there is one steep incline to link the two paths - it is perfectly acceptable to dismount and walk this short steep stretch. There are some beautiful views of the the river take, the ‘sleeping giant’ and the start of the Brecon Beacons. 80% of the route is on cycle paths. The ride is approximately 20 miles and we plan to travel between 9 and 10 miles per hour.

There is a short stretch on an a-road but there is plenty of space for passing cars

We are planning to stop at a lovely cafe in ystradgynlais called log for a coffee and cake so remember money or a card and mask as per covid regulations

Helmets are essential and a bike in good working order, please make sure your tyres are inflated and you have a spare inner tube and pump with you. I will update through out the week on weather conditions but please bring clothes appropriate to the conditions. Please make sure you have water/ fluids with you. Please also remember in times of covid to be covid safe ‘flo before we go’ and keep a reasonable social distance at all times also if you are experiencing any symptoms of covid please let me know and cancel your space
