Coxwold Village Hall (SE536773). Parking is behind the hall.

This 16 mile ride starts in the village of Coxwold (once home to Laurence Sterne), passing Newburgh Priory (built in 1145) before ascending one of the hills that will be part of the 60 mile Yorkshire Lass Annual Charity Sportive route taking place in August. We then follow the route through Husthwaite where we leave it and ride on to Coxwold and then towards Kilburn, home of the “Mouseman” visitor centre, café and shop, where we will stop for refreshment. The sportive route is then picked up as we pass under the White Horse and ascend another of the sportive hills (NOT White Horse Bank!) and continue on to Oldstead. Once through Oldstead we have a nice descent towards the ruins of Byland Abbey before a flat ride back to Coxwold. This is not going to be a fast ride and we will have plenty of time to take in the lovely views.
