Slough Freewheelers Tenth Anniversary Ride and Meal

Hi guys I have copied email received from Gerald for the benefit of those not on his mailing list. Hello Freewheelers, Ten years ago this month, the first Slough Freewheelers ride took place from Upton Court Park. This was a joint venture between Slough Borough Council and the local NHS trust to get people on bikes to make them healthier and less likely to need hospital services. Unfortunately funding did not last long and we were left on our own. Since then we have managed to carry on and developed into a good size group with a big increase in recreational cycling in the Slough area. Sky Rides came and went, leaving us and a few groups that are all connected to carry on the good work. So to celebrate all this nonsense, we are having our usual bike ride on Saturday which will take us to Windsor Great Park and then to Old Windsor where we will be stopping for a celebratory meal ant the Bells of Ousley (Harvester Restaurant). All are welcome to join us here but if you don’t fancy this, John will be leading you back to Upton Court Park. If you wish to attend the celebratory meal, please could you let me know as soon as possible so we can book tables and work out times etc? It would be good to see as many of you as possible even if you are not able to ride but wish to come along and socialise over some food. Dick, Dave, as founder members, are you able to come and join us? John will also be posting on the Sky Ride local website to catch those not on our circulation list. See you at 10.00 on Saturday.
