Skipton

Let us take you on a ride from Skipton that has a little bit of everything.  This figure of 8 route steadily climbs on its way out of Skipton towards Embsay using quiet roads where possible, throws in a few other hills along the way, it includes a little bit non-tarmac riding but has plenty of opportunity for stops along the way.  Along the way we will pass by Skipton Woods, Castle Wood, Bog Wood, Little Wood and Massa Flatts Wood and Skipton Golf Club to make our ‘5 Wood Tour’ complete. Taking in sights like the local Steam Railway and with good views of the crags and hills around Skipton, this route is a delightful introduction to the pleasures of riding on quiet country lanes. And for those of you who are really good, there's the home of Yorkshire Dales Ice Cream just around the corner... If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
