If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.

British Cycling has teamed up with The National Trust to bring two exclusive Sky Ride Local bike rides to Sizergh Castle in Kendal as part of a Historic House Car Boot Sale and Bike Festival, in aid of the British Red Cross.

Starting at Sizergh Castle This ride is an opportunity to cycle around the castle grounds and beyond into the Lyth Valley, and back to Sizergh where you can spend some time exploring the historic car boot and bike festival.
