Silloth

Starting out in Silloth the route heads down the Solway Firth Coast, where you will be able to enjoy the beauty of riding in this designated “Area of Natural Beauty”.  You will enjoy views out to sea and across the Firth to the Galloway coastline of South West Scotland and the impressive Crieffel Mountain.

There is the potential of a stop in Allonby, home of the famous Twentyman’s Ice Cream, before the route heads inland to the shelter of the quiet country lanes.  After reaching West Newton at just over halfway through, the route turns north and starts its return to Silloth.

Please note that although the route is only 19 miles long and there is not much climbing to tackle on it, we have graded it as a Challenging route as the majority of the roads (although generally quiet) are under National Speed Limit.
