Shake off those winter cobwebs and get yourself into gear! Join us for what will hopefully be a lovely early spring ride to Hatton, Warwickshire. The ride is best suited to those who are already confident at handling their bikes and are looking to build up the distance they can cycle. It will be at an average speed of 11-12mph to keep warm, so you will need a reasonable level of fitness. The ride duration is an estimate and may vary depending upon the group, the weather, and punctures. We will mainly ride through quiet country lanes, but at this time of year the exact route may be changed due to weather. Additional Information: The Reservoir Pub has a car park if you are driving to the start point. We will depart promptly so please arrive 10-15 minutes early to avoid missing the ride. The ride will be cancelled on the website in the event of extreme weather conditions, so please check before leaving home! By joining the ride you agree that you will cycle carefully, considerately, and be fully responsible for your safety. It is important that you bring sufficient money to get yourself home in the event of a mechanical failure. Please also carry a phone along with your name and emergency contact information. Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions. You may need extra layers of warm clothing particularly for hands, feet and head, as well as a waterproof jacket. Wearing a helmet is advisable on the roads. Road bikes or hybrid bikes with road tyres are best suited for this ride. Make sure that your bike is maintained in good working order. Regular servicing is advisable for peace of mind and to enjoy the ride. You will also need tools to repair a puncture, including a pump and two spare inner tubes (correct size for your wheel). Please bring a drink and snack to keep you going, and extra money if you want refreshments at the coffee/tea stop in Hatton - it’s nice to have a bit of a chat as well. Look forward to seeing you.
