PLEASE IGNORE ROUTE DESCRIPTION WHICH STARTS IN SHIPLAKE AS CANCELLED DUE TO HENLEY REGETTA. NEW ROUTE WILL START CRAZIES HILL AND WE RIDE VIA HAMBLEDEN TO MARLOW

Parking at Shiplake Hall on Memorial Avenue, our first mile will be through the woods, to join Woodlands Avenue, and down into Harpsden. A climb out to continue to Rotherfield Greys, then passing NT Greys Court, nice tree covered lanes to Bix. A couple of miles of very gradual climbing the Stonor Valley, with a bit effort up to Tuville Heath. We’re at the top! An easy couple of miles with loads of tree shade to our refreshment stop at Chiltern Valley Vineyard at 15 miles. A steep drop after coffee into Hambleden Valley where we hope to enjoy a wonderful display of Hollyhocks around the village. Across The Thames at Hambleden weir, then an option to follow the river as far as Remenham Church ( or use the road), before over the river again in Henley and back to Harpsden to enjoy our favourite Perseverance Hill. But we do finish on a BIG downhill back to Shiplake.

Coffee at Chiltern Valley Vineyard, Dudley Lane, Nr Hambleden.

Cycle helmets are compulsory. Please check your bike the night before, chain oiled, tyres fully inflated (makes it easier!), and always carry a spare inner tube suitable for your tyre size. And preferable two! And a pump which you know fits your valve.
