Our 21.5 mile (35km) route leaves Fradley Junction where we head towards Whittington, on to Shenstone via Jerrys Lane and Weeford. After refreshments at the Community Café in Shenstone we ride towards Wall. A right turn takes us down into Lichfield and the Cathedral using cycle lanes where possible before returning to Fradley Junction via Netherstowe Lane

A steady ride through the Staffordshire countryside starting from historic Fradley Junction on to and through Whittington, Weeford, Shenstone and Wall (with its Roman connections) before we return to the Junction via Lichfield taking in the magnificent cathedral and Stowe Pool.

The route inevitably follows some main roads but we will mostly be on quiet back lanes, country roads and cycle lanes. There may be surface water on route as well as mud and debris from fields that have been recently farmed so care will be needed passing these areas. There are hills! we described this ride as steady as there are also downhill bits ! The pace will be a realistic one with time to recover and get your breath back

A stop at the Community Cafe in Shenstone is anticipated. There will be opportunities to take on water on route when required.

Helmets should be worn. Money for refreshments, water and some type of food such as flapjacks, cereal or energy bars should be carried in case there are issues or delays at the scheduled stops as Cafes tend to get very busy these days. According to the guidelines issued by British Cycling riders must be self-sufficient, bringing tools, a puncture repair kit, and a spare innertube so punctures can be repaired.

We never leave anyone behind
