Starting point

Staffordshire

Our 24 mile (38km) route leaves Fradley Junction where we head towards Whittington, on to Shenstone via Jerrys Lane and Weeford passing over the A38. After refreshments at the Community Café in Shenstone we return to Fradley avoiding the hill in Weeford. The route inevitably follows some main roads but we will mostly be on quiet back lanes and country roads. There may be surface water on route as well as mud and debris from fields that have been recently farmed so care will be needed passing these areas. There are hills! we described this ride as steady as there are also downhill bits ! The pace will be a realistic one with time to recover and get your breath back.

A 24 mile out and back ride through the Staffordshire countryside from Fradley Junction to the village of Shenstone passing through Whittington and Weeford. We return on the same route.

The route inevitably follows some main roads but we will mostly be on quiet back lanes and country roads.

At 12 miles a stop at the library in Shenstone where there is a community cafe is anticipated.

Helmets should be worn. According to the guidelines issued by British Cycling riders must be self-sufficient, bringing tools, a puncture repair kit, and a spare innertube so punctures can be repaired. Money for parking, refreshments, water and some type of food such as flapjacks, cereal or energy bars should be carried in case there are issues or delays at the scheduled stops as Cafes tend to get very busy these days.

First-timers welcome!
