Sheffield - Hillsborough to Coronation Park - 7 miler

If you're fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour. Come and join us for a gentle relaxing ride by the River Don from Hillsborough Park out to Coronation Park in Oughtibridge. The route is not completely traffic free but we will start with a lap of Hillsborough Park just to make sure we are all ready before setting off. As we exit the park there is a small amount of road riding as we pass by the home of Sheffield Wedneday and then a quiet access road to negotiate before we get to Beeley Woods, but from there to Coronation Park we can forget about the cars and focus on the views.Once on the path through the woods there is plenty of wildlife to keep your eyes out for, but if you are lucky you might just hear the tapping of a woodpecker or the cries of ‘How's that?' as we pass the cricket pitch at the War Memorial sports ground.At Coronation Park there will be time for us to have a rest or if you are inclined a play on the swings, before we start our journey back to the Niagara Conference and Leisure Centre.
