We will start from the Fox House Inn car park Hathersage Road Sheffield. S117TY

This part of a series of mountain bike rides supported by Sheffield Council and guided by British Cycling Level 2 mountain bike leaders. The aim is to get riders out on their mountain bikes for fun rides where they know they will not get lost or left behind. These are social rides and the pace will be one that is comfortable for all the riders in the group. They will enable riders to chat and get to know each other whilst becoming more confident mountain bikers. This ride includes some lovely moorland single track, some swooping double track and the concessionary bridleway along Baslow, Curbar and Froggatt edges which has some of the best views in the Peak District. It will be at a social pace so don't worry if you are not at your top level of fitness. There will no pressure to ride anything you are uncomfortable with as walking is always an option. For those who know the area the route is outlined below but may be changed on the day to suit the group and weather conditions. From the Fox House through Longshaw then a short riad section leading to Big Moor. Over Baslow Edge then to Jolly's Coffee Wagon at Curbar Gap returning via Froggatt Edge to Fox House. All riders must wear a helmet and have a safe functioning mountain bike. Snacks and coffee should be available part way round the route but all riders should carry snacks and a drink as well as a waterproof jacket. Please bring a spare inner tube but don’t worry if you don’t know how to fit it! There will be two leaders on this ride. Please message us for more infornaton or if you have any concerns or queries. Ruth and Jim Sutherland
