Starting from - The start point is by the 'Just as you are' tea cottage on Beach Road. There is parking along Beach Road as it runs by a little wall. If not, there is space on the neighbouring roads (Gorse Cover Road seems to have some laybys). There are toilets along the road towards the bakery. If you would like to find it with What Three Words then the parking is at ///surcharge.skin.yards, BS35 4PQ

The ride starts by the sea at Severn Beach. We then head out of the village along a quiet lane and pick up the cycle path that will take us through the Avonmouth distribution park (prettier than it sounds) and over the M49. Then we carry on following the cycle path to Bowstreet Lane. Here we turn left and head into Easter Compton. We cycle through the village and turn right towards Pilning. We then follow Pilning Street for about 4 miles until we get to Tockington. From here we head towards Olveston and then Alberton, before joining the slightly busier Aust Road for about 1/2 mile. We then turn off and head up to Mumbleys. From Alberton to here is mostly uphill but nothing too steep (about 1.5 miles in total). From here we turn right and then right to find the turning to Foxholes Lane and the entrance to the park.
After a short rest stop, we continue on down the lane to briefly join Alveston Road before turning off again onto Vicarage Lane. We head back into Olveston and out towards the Severn bridge before turning onto Ingst Hill (going down!). This will take us to Northwick where we can pick up the cycle path to the sea wall which we will follow back into Severn Beach.

A nice scenic route with lots of variety along the way

About 80% of the route is traffic free and mostly tarmac. The rest is quiet country lanes. All of the route is suitable for all bikes. There are no big hills but there is a climb to get to the top of the Avonmouth bridge.

We will stop at the marina in Portishead where there are several coffee shops to choose from.

Please wear a helmet and bring along some money and a lock for the rest stop. It is also a good idea to carry a spare tube just in case.

We never leave anyone behind
