Starting point

Hampshire
PO7 6YS

Circular route northward mostly on country lanes and the odd B road. We will pass the Bat and Ball pub and head on a long uphill via Leydene to East Meon and the Sustainability Centre where we will take a break at the Beech Cafe. We will then cycle along the top of Winchester Hill and head down into Chidden and Hambledon and then return to Denmead.

This is a hilly route and is not intended for beginners, however, you will not be left on your own at the back, there will always be someone with you, it is not a speed trial. There are a few hills and you go up the hills any way you can, even if you need to walk some of the way. However, there are some nice downhill stretches. The route is worth the effort and very scenic.

This is a hilly route for those who would like a bit more of a challenge. The way out is mostly up hill (with a few downs too). We climb up Hyden Farm Lane (by the Bat and Ball) past Leydene and arrive at the Sustainability Centre, East Meon for refreshments. We then cycle along the top of the hill (spectacular views) and then downhill into Chidden then Hambledon and home. Hard work but the views are the reward.

We will be cycling along quiet country lanes and the odd B road. Beautiful countryside.

We will stop at the Sustainability Centre Beech Cafe for refreshments. Great cakes and food (vegetarian).

Make sure you wear your helmet, bring a drink, spare inner tube (in case of a puncture) and some money (cash or card) for refreshments. Depending on what the weather is doing you may need a rain/wind jacket and/or sunscreen.

Those new to Breeze are very welcome BUT this is not a beginner or starter ride as the hills are long, though not particularly difficult. If you are new to cycling or have had a long break from cycling it will be better to try a flatter route for your first ride.
