Hampton Pier Car Park, Spa Esplanade, Herne Bay, Kent Please note this is a pay & display car park.

This route is a mix of traffic free and on road - a flat route that will be ridden at the speed of the slowest rider, planned at about 10 miles per hour with a half hour stop in Faversham. Starting on the CyclePath along the shore from Hampton to Tankerton, then along the road at the top of Tankerton Slopes, to miss out busy pedestrian area. Bypassing Tankerton Hill and choosing a quiet route through Whitstable, then out to Seasalter along Joy Lane and Faversham Road. A flat route across the marshes to Graveney and into the back of Faversham for a drink at The Anchor, Abbey Street Faversham. Return to Hampton. For those not wishing to make the return trip, it is possible to catch the train from Faversham to Herne Bay.   SUITABLE FOR ROAD, HYBRID OR MOUNTAIN BIKES. It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack if you think your energy levels may need topping up along the way and some money if you'd like something at the coffee stop. Please wear a helmet and ensure your bike is in good working order-tyres pumped, brakes working etc and carrying a spare inner tube and puncture repair kit is always advisable. If you want to lock your bike at "The Minnis" please bring a lock. Don't forget lights incase it is dark / dusk on our return.
