Scarborough Scoot

This week the Thursday evening weekly Scarborough Breeze ride for beginners will start from The Downe Arms Hotel, Wykeham. (The Scarborough Scoot for more experienced riders will, as usual, start from The Nag's Head, Scalby. We plan to split people into groups according to ability and experience –from complete beginners to the more advanced rider. There will generally be three qualified Breeze Champions to lead each ride. We’ll do rides around the local area taking in scenic local back roads, the cinder track, the sea front and forest drives. Distances will vary according to ability from about 10 -- 14 miles at a conversational pace for the beginner’s group to more challenging distances for more experienced riders. We aim to make our rides social and fun, and always stop somewhere en route for refreshments. We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part. If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.
