Scarborough Scoot

Next week’s ride (7.12.13) is our Christmas ride - so bring out the tinsel! We will meet at the Nag’s Head Pub in Scalby at 1pm.  We will cycle up Hay Brow, along Reasty Bank and down Reasty Hill.  Then we will ride round Harwood Dale but will take a different route to normal – along Millennium Way and the forest track across to the Falcon Inn where we will stop for our Christmas dinner.  They are expecting us at 2.30pm and we will eat when we are ready.  When we leave the pub, we will ride up to Staitondale.  There we will join the Cinder Track and have a leisurely ride back down to Scalby.  This route is not suitable for road bikes due to the Millennium Way and Cinder Track stretches.  You will also need lights on your bike as it will be dark by the time we leave the Falcon Inn.   Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don't have one please do not worry, you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.   We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind.   Don’t forget….
