Saturday 17th December 2022 12:15pm

Starting from - Outside Cafe Eye at 9.15am

We are currently experiencing Arctic conditions, if the roads are very icy and the temperature is very low or windchill is in minus figures, the 9.15am ride will be cancelled by 8am Sat 10 Dec.
If there is demand from riders, the ride may be rescheduled to 11am Sat 10 Dec to allow conditions to improve.

Please bring warm layers, good gloves and something to protect toes from icy winds.

The route is generally good, however there are sections of the Heart of Suffolk route which are muddy and gravelly.

Please bring spare inner tube and tyre levers as punctures are more common in winter.

Starting point

Suffolk

We leave Eye on the Heart of Suffolk cycle path and head towards Hoxne. There are a few undulating hills on the way to Hoxne, however everyone rides at their own pace and regroup where convenient.
The national cycle route encompasses minor roads which do get a little muddy and gravelly during winter months, we will reduce the pace accordingly. We have an optional stop early on in the ride at Greengold cafe for a warming beverage before continuing our ride to Redlingfield. The road quality out of Hoxne, through Redlingfield and back to Eye is very good and benefit from great views.
