The Sarn Helen route introduces you to some stunning scenery over the Rhinogs! There are trails, rocks, mud, water, quiet roads and more - its more cross country this week. We will come back into the forest and can (if people want to by then) use the Blue Minatour trail and also bits of the Dragons Back (red). You need to be able to ride a bike. Any sections you don't wish to do, thats fine, as we have 2 leaders, however when we are out on the Sarn Helen route, if there are sections you dont wish you ride thats fine, you just get off your bike and walk.
If you ride an E-bike you are of course welcome, however, the leaders don't ride e-bikes and we wont be chasing you up hills! :-) So please do have some patience for the leaders and those who don't ride e-bikes. If you think you might be waiting around at tops of hill, please come dressed warm - there will be however, an opportunity or two to loop back around and replay the fab downhill you have just done!

I wont cancel the ride unless the weather dictates that it would be unsafe to continue - for example, very high winds (not great in a wooded area!), or snow that makes roads difficult to pass, or trails to ride. I will review the weather in the run up to the ride and make decisions as early as possible. If you are choosing to hire a bike from the bike shop, we will not be liable for any costs incurred.

If you have ridden blue before, and a red route then this ride is for you. It is more of a cross country, scenic route travelling out of Coed Y Brenin on the old Sarn Helen route and coming back into the forest for us to take in a handful of blue or red trails on the way back to the cafe for cake and coffee. This is my birthday week ride so I'm hoping for beautiful sunshine!!!!

There will be quiet roads within this ride, and rough tracks. Some may want to walk small sections. But, its also good to work on your technical climbing techniques and balance.

We stop regularly - to chat and catch up - but no specific stops allocated.

Bring: Helmets (NOT optional) Gloves (ideal - because its off road) Warm layers - Spare and in your bag Snacks - you might need a bit more sugar on the ride to keep you going tools - if you have them, dont worry if you dont! Knee pads and elbow pads - Completely optional! Good riding shoes - good tread on any shoe - MTB riding shoes need good tread, if you dont have riding shoes then trainers with good grip ands lugs would be ideal. A working bike - most important!

We never leave anyone behind
