An extension of the previous route along the Sankey Valley. This route again takes a steady saunter along the Sankey Valley way towards St Helens. This time however we are going further and exploring more. We are passing the places we stopped at last time to head towards the Stanley Bank Nature Reserve and Country Park - a longer 8 miles there and 8 miles back this time. Again we can take in the history and wildlife sights along the way and reflect upon this routes industrial nature which nature has now reclaimed. An optional stop off at the Fiddle in the Bag on Route is available as is a little stop at the Mucky Mountain Nature Reserve- well it would be rude to pass it by!!! As it is a longer ride you may want to pack a few nibbles and deffinately some drinks. But we pass Earlstown and other larger towns if we need to make a short refreshment stop. again this route is mainly flat in nature and off road on a well surfaced trail. The emphasis is on a social and pleasant ride so dont worry about speed and pace today - it really is a saunter
