We leave Bewsey and Dallam Community Hub and enter Sankey Valley Park to head north to St.Helens. en route, we pass by Winwick, Earlestown and Vulcan Village along the first canal system in England. Our destination is gain by rising along pathways through ancient woodland and the steady climb to the dam and our cafe stop.
The first two miles when returning are all downhill, and again we will see lots of wildlife and amazing scenery.

Join us on this popular ride along picturesque Sankey Valley and the St.Helens Canal to Carr Mill Dam. Easy paced on traffic-free trails bypassing Winwick, Vulcan Village and Earlestown. Great scenery and birdlife as we pass by lakes and ponds. A planned stop overlooking Carr Mill Dam is a great place to chat with fellow riders over a coffee and cake, or sausage sarnie!!

Traffic-free for most part. 1 Controlled crossing to access Sankey Park at Blackbrook.

30 minute stop at Carr Mill Dam and stops can be made if cyclist want to take photographs.

Helmets are Mandatory if Under 18 years. Ride Warrington recommend wearing a helmet for all.Warm, layered and waterproof clothing should be carried. Gloves, under-helmet hats, head warmers. Basic tool kit, spare inner tube, puncture outfit, tyre sealant. Drink bottle, Mobile phone (fully-charged) Money or card if purchasing drinks/food Cycle lock
