This ride is primarily for all those thinking about, or already signed up to the Saints Foundation Bike Bike Challenge 2017. It's also open to those who are just looking for a longer ride with like-minded cyclists. More information about this 2-day charity cycle ride if interested is here:

The route will take us to Chute Causeway in North Hampshire an it will involve hills as there are some on the Big Bike Challenge! This is the last group ride before the event end of May.

As it is a longer ride, please note the earlier start time of 9am.
We will aim to complete the route at 12-13mph and hence aim to take 6.5-7 hours including stops but do allow a little extra time in case of any issues.
Please bring enough clothing and food/water to be self-sufficient and comfortable whatever the weather might throw at us. We will scheduled at least one main stop but this and any others are likely to be (weather dependent) 'pit stops' to top up rather than long stops. Make sure you have spare inner tubes - ideally two that you know fit your bike - and make sure you check your tyre pressures and pump them up well before you come along. You can take your bike into a local bike shop for all this and ask what you need.
The stadium is on National Cycle Route 23 and 1.5 miles from Southampton Central Station. If you need to come by car and want to park at the Stadium, please park in the NORTH car park. This is usually free for us but in case, be prepared for £2 pay and display and it sometimes only takes coins!
Nick and Andy will be leading a faster group, and Jim and other ride leaders will lead at a more moderate pace. If you've not yet done this many miles and have any concerns, please do contact Jim, Ruth or one of the Ride Leaders on
