Starting point

Lancashire
PR7 7HZ

Departing the start point we'll almost immediately be off-road over the nature reserve at Buckshaw Village, then a climb to the A6 to follow cycleway and join the canal at Bottany Bay. From the canal it is quiet country lanes, passing through Top O'Th Lane, and then on to the bridleway at Pippin Street to cross over the motorway. The route then navigates through an industrial estate, quiet on Saturday mornings, into the back of Bamber Bridge, and then onto NCN55 to bring us back to the start via Cuerden Valley.

A circular route starting and finishing in Buckshaw Village. You'll ride to the local high point, whizz through Top O'Th Lane, scramble up a bridleway, and return via NCN55 through the beautiful Cuerden Valley Park.

There is a proper mix of terrain on this ride, something for everyone: off road over a nature reserve, along a canal, and up a bridleway, quiet country lanes between the canal and the bridleway, and returning via a shared traffic free cycle route.

We shall pause en-route for snacks and drinks as required. We'll also be climbing to a local high point so if you want to stop and take photos then we can.

Helmets are mandatory for junior riders and strongly encouraged for adults. Bring inner tubes suitable for your bike(s), snacks, drink, a smile and maybe a joke or two. Please also dress appropriate to the weather. Mudguards are advised.

We especially welcome newbies!
