From Coffee Cup Eastney end of of seafront take cycle path towards Eastney. Exit cycle path onto road following the road towards Bransbury Park, take cycle/footpath through Park to Ironbridge Road. At end of Ironbridge Road turn right and follow Road straight ahead turn left onto Bus Lane, continue onto Moorings Way around Milton Common. Take cycle path onto Eastern Road following cycle path along side of Langstone Harbour to traffic lights at Morrisons supermarket cross road and continue along Eastern Road to end of island and take cycle path south of Port Creek negotiating the cattle grid, continue on path to railway bridge go under and then over water and bridge to north side of cycle path running parallel with A27. At the end of cycle path dismount and walk over footbridge to other side of London Road and take cycle path round Hilsea Lido. Follow the cycle path off island towards Port Solent, nipping off to the left and round IBM park and lake, returning to the cycle path and under the A27, negotiating several traffic crossings to the cycle path parallel with Portsmouth Harbour, where, weather permitting lovely views of Spinnaker and Portchester Castle. Continue on cycle path towards Portchester, the cycle path goes onto the road briefly and then turn left towards Portchester Castle. At the end of the road the road bends to the left, take the White Hart Lane, to the end and straight ahead onto Cranleigh Road. The Road bears left, follow the signs for Salt Café on the left into Wicor Marine Yacht Haven, for refreshments at the Salt Café. Returning on the same route to Hilsea Lido, past Alexandra Park and edge of Portsmouth Harbour passing Mountbatten centre follow cycle route signs to Jervis Road and through Stanshaw Park. Take under pass to Ferry Port and follow cycle path behind terminal and out by the side of Morrisons back onto cycle route and shared footpath follow to Naval base on right take underpass to Edinburgh Road cross road to Victoria Park, cycling with care through park go under railway bridge turn immediately right round Guildhall and out onto King Henry Street, cross road to Exchange and turn left into white Swan Road and immediately onto cycle path, crossing Winston Churchill Ave, using traffic lights. Take road straight ahead to end and turn immediately right then left into St Pauls Road follow to end then left into Kings Road, then 3rd on right into Castle Road. At the end of Castle Road take a left into Western Parade onto Clarence Parade joining the cycle path for a brief period, cross the road onto Serpentine Road crossing the common. Following the common along the seafront rejoin Clarence Parade and pass the pier rejoining the cycle path on right just beyond Canoe Lake. Returning along seafront to the Coffee Cup. Free parking is available on Eastern Road and Eastney Swimming Pool and a bit further on at Fort Road Eastney. For those that live off the Island and want to join the group a little later, meet at the top of Eastern Road, at the crossing for Morrisons at the junction of Anchorage Road, at 12.15. Parking at Farlington Marshes is free, though, there is now double yellow lines, please check restrictions.
