A 15 mile route from Dalkeith Country Park to Roslin starting at Dalkeith Country Park main entrance and going through the park to the Melville gate entrance, then a short section on road to Dobbies, then picking up the shared path that runs all the way to Roslin. On the way back there will be a little gravel loop round Straiton Pond to see the swans and ducks and we then head back along the same way to the start. 550' of elevation so reasonably flat with a little incline on the way out.

A 15 mile route from Dalkeith country Park to Roslin with a little gravel loop round Straiton Pond to see the swans and ducks and then back along the same way to the start.

We will be cycling on mainly shared paths and a couple of short sections on roads. On the shared paths we will likely pass walkers, dogs and horses and maybe tiny humans on balance bikes, so please stay safe and keep other users safe.

We will stop at Dollys Tea Room in Roslin (at 7.5 miles).

Please bring the following with you: Bike in good and safe working order and well maintained, a helmet, spare inner-tube / puncture repair kit, a bike lock if you have one, layers (including a waterproof incase of rain), card or cash payment if you want to buy anything at our café stop. We don't leave anyone behind but if you find yourself in a position of being unable to continue with the ride for any reason, for example in the event of a puncture / mechanical that cannot be fixed at the roadside, then you need a plan for getting home. and loads of chat.

First-timers welcome!
