Okay, so you're definitely going to need lights that you can see with for this one, and lights on the back so you can be seen from behind. The ride avoids roads for probably 90% of the route BUT if you do have any reflective gear I do recommend you wear that as well.
Meeting up on Centurion Way at 7.30pm and heading along the Doncaster Greenway to Highfields Lake, where we will take a slight detour so we can call in at The Broad Highway for a drink. We'll then return to Highfields Lake and follow the Greenway again until it joins Roman Ridge. There is one steepish climb to do shortly after we join the Ridge BUT once we get that out of the way it isnt long before we find ourselves on what is a long, steady downhill ride back to York Road and our next watering hole, the Sun Inn, before finally making our way back to the start point on Centurion Way.
Although this ride is very much off road it's all on surfaced tracks, so is suitable for road/tourer bikes as well as hybrid/mountain bikes.
Just for a bit of fun we'd like you to don scary masks, and if any of you fancy turning up in glow in the dark skeleton suits that would be brilliant (I think unfortunately I'm too big to get into one), though safety still comes first (as well as keeping warm), so make sure you wear your helmet and warm clothing. As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre ride checks.
The ride is approx 8 miles in all.
