Accrington Train Station, Eagle Street car park.

A gentle roll along the Hyndburn Greenway (Woodnook stretch). This ride is ideal for beginners or anyone wanting some post-work/pre-dinner fresh air. We'll ride at an easy pace but the initial hill will still work-out those leg muscles. Don't be daunted  by the climb though, we'll all go at our own pace and the route means we can look forward to the downhill return. This is a completely traffic free route and the Woodnook Greenway is a lovely stretch which allows for two-a-breast riding and plenty of chatting along the way. At this time of year it is lovely and green and there's plenty of birdlife along the way too. When we reach the lodges at Baxenden we'll stop for a drink/snack (bring your own) and a breather whilst enjoying the views and ducks before making our way back to the start/finish. Please check the weather before you set off - you may need waterproofs or warmer clothes for our rest-stop. Helmets are advisable but please don't worry if you don't have one. Just come along and, if you enjoy the ride and want to do more, you might consider investing in one for the future. Children (5- 15) are welcome on this ride but must be accompanied by an adult and helmets are compulsory for all children.
