Riverside Rendezvous
Sunday 12th March - 11.5 miles
10am from The Baltic, Newcastle Quayside
Easygoing pace
The route is mostly suited to hybrid/gravel/mountain bikes, but road bikes will cope.

RIDE DESCRIPTION:
A mostly flat, traffic-free riverside ride, using cycle tracks and shared-use paths. Our route will follow the south side of the River Tyne in an easterly direction, before we take a left turn - when we'll follow the River Derwent to the Derwent Country Park. After a short loop through the country park, we'll join the north side of the River Tyne to make our way back to the start point.
There is no planned cafe stop during the ride, but we will rendezvous with Durham Breeze on our return to the Baltic, where you can either buy refreshments or bring your own to consume in the picnic area.
Three of the Durham Breeze leaders will be celebrating milestone rides - two leading their 50th ride and one, can you believe, leading her 250th ride!... As Breeze leaders are all volunteers, this is a great achievement!... Let's help them celebrate!

THE BORING BUT IMPORTANT BITS....
Please make sure your bike is in working condition PRIOR to arriving for the ride and bring a spare inner tube to fit your tyres (check the valve type too!) and/or a puncture repair kit. The leaders can help you fix a puncture, but only if you have the right size inner tube for your bike or a puncture repair kit!
Whilst we welcome any bike type, we have zero knowledge of e-bikes, so if you are riding an e-bike, please come prepared to independently sort out any mechanicals that you may have.

If the weather is poor, we will contact you if we are cancelling the ride and will do so by putting a message in the ‘conversation’ tab in the ride. You should receive a notification by email if there is a message. If you have not heard from us, we are still riding.

If you book on this ride and then find you have to cancel, please do so as soon as you can so that your place is available to someone else.

The organiser of the ride may take photographs or videos of the ride and riders for publicity purposes. By registering to participate in the ride, you agree that photographic images of you or containing you, may be used by the organiser, sponsors or promoters of the ride for publicity purposes

We look forward to seeing you.
