This is a special re-routing of the popular 'Riverside Ramble', which explores the fascinating and diverse Middlesbrough Riverside. This 7.12 mile circular route, starts at Teesside University, then heads down to one of middlesbrough's unmissable landmarks, the 225ft high Transporter Bridge, the second largest of its kind in the world. The 1911 bridge (affectionately known as 'The Tranny') is not the only giant you'll meet. On route - from here you'll follow the riverbank inland passing Teesaurus Park - a dinosaur sculpture park created by local metalworkers - which is sure to be a hit with the kids. The ride also affords great views of the Tees Barrage, where you can often view seals and a wide variety of bird life. The route is mostly flat, traffic-free, with some roads in central Middlesbrough. If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
