About the route
Starting point
Start point is on the plaza between Asda and Iceland off Viersen Platz, Peterborough, PE1 1ET.
A leisurely ride along the South bank of the River, by the Nene Valley Railway, then around the Ham Mere Bird Sanctuary to reach the Green Cafe at Ferry Meadows. After a refreshment break, return the same way until Orton Mere where we cross the river and either ride beside the Rowing Lake or along the Sculpture Trail.
This is all on cycleways, some of which do not have a macadamed surface. It is about 8 miles in total.
Children are welcome but are the responsibility of the adult with them.
