Ride Warrington - Great Sankey figure of eight

Short, mainly off road route designed for people new to or returning to cycling !
Very easy pace, so no one is left behind.

This ride has a bit of everything - Historical sites, state of the art industry, canals, parks and woodland.

60% is off road on good tarmac paths. 30% on shared use footpaths. The other 10% is on a minor roads. - very easy to ride along.

There are a few narrow barriers along the route, therefore this route will not suit those on non standard bikes.

Route:
Starting form the Hub we follow the path to Whittle Brook, then head North through Chapelford and West along the shared use footpath of Westbrook Way to Sankey Valley. We leave Sankey Valley at the railway viaduct and head back to Chapelford and on to Omega with Airlift Hill on the left. Then it's short trip back to Great Sankey Hub.

Regular stops along the route.

You'll need a road worth bike. Helmets are strongly recommended. We also recommend a spare innertube or puncture repair kit, if you have one, however this isn't essential. Please bring your own drinks and snacks, if required.
