Ride to the Amersham Fair Organ Museum

This is one of the town’s best kept secrets! The collection was founded by Albert Edward ‘Ted’ Reed (1926 – 2022) who had a keen interest in steam engines and fairground equipment – notably mechanical organs. From the 1960s onward Ted expanded his collection to encompass the instruments on display at the Museum today.

In 2004 a charitable trust was formed in order to safeguard the future of this iconic collection and make it available to the public, it is a lasting tribute to Ted Reed, whose dedication and foresight in preserving fairground organs and their traditional music will ensure that this important part of Britain’s heritage is secure for future generations to enjoy.

Please wear a helmet, bring a spare inner tube and pump. Check your bike over in advance to make sure the brakes are working and tyres are pumped up!

As always, your bike must be in good working order, bring a spare inner tube and pump, working lights as well as money and bike lock; we will stop at the end of the ride at the museum to have a look and listen to the organs and have a coffee in their café.

2 tubes (1 if tubeless)

Cash/card for our coffee stop

We'll do a 15 mile loop from Hervine's Park calling in at the AFOM close to the end of the ride where we will meeting up with the ladies from Amersham Breeze.

Mainly country lanes with some busier stretches of road.
