Wynyard Woodland Park

Join in with the Tees Valley Riders! It's the return of one of last year's favourite rides! Starting at Wynyard Woodland Park, this all-day ride follows route NCN 1 all the way to Sunderland. Joining the Castle Eden Walkway, going directly north through Hurworth Burn, Station Town, Wingate, Shotton Colliery, Haswell, South Hetton, then heading north east after Murton, round the outskirts of Seaham, coming back inland at Ryhope and north west into Sunderland City Centre. A lunch stop here before returning the same route in reverse. Note that this is one of our most challenging rides, it's a great ride but recommended only for strong riders who can ride a long distance over rough terrain, keeping up a decent pace! Route:- http://bikeroutetoaster.com/Course.aspx?course=308125 (one way) Start:- Wynyard Woodland Park Ride level:- STRONG+ Terrain:- Mostly off-road, mostly flat, mountain bikes / hybrids needed for this. Distance:- 50 miles Pace:- 12-14 mph Time: 6-7 hours
