Starting from - Meet at Porteur Cycle Café, 210 Church Road, Hove BN3 2DJ

There is plenty of safe bike storage inside the café (Kelly who runs the café can point you in the right direction if you haven't been here before). The café opens at 9am on a Saturday so you can arrive early for breakfast or a cuppa before we start at 09:30.

Paul runs the bike workshop downstairs. That's handy if you've forgotten to bring your own inner tube, or you'd like to know whether to worry about a strange sound your bike has started to make!, BN3 2AH

This is a Graceful Green ride - Leisure riders, 8 - 9mph on quiet country lanes with some undulations

Let's go to market! Join us for a gentle ride to Shoreham Farmer's Market to pick up some locally made produce and goodies. Shoreham Farmer's Market is on the 2nd Saturday of every month and has won many awards. You can find "local growers, farmers, producers, brewers, bakers and all of the highest quality Sussex has to offer". Information here: https://www.adur-worthing.gov.uk/markets/#shoreham-farmers-markets

After meeting at Porteur café we will set off on the road from the café down to the sea front, then join the National Cycle Network 2 route along the seafront all the way to Shoreham. This takes us along the cycle lane past Hove Lagoon, all the way along the quiet Basin Road, crossing Shoreham Lock by foot, then re-joining NCN2 on the quiet back streets to Shoreham, avoiding the busy main road. We will take some time to look around the market (or sit with a coffee in a café if you prefer) and then ride back the way we came.

**What to bring**

- Please bring your own bike lock for when we're looking around the market (pushing a bike past the stalls may not be easy if it's busy)
- Bring a rucksack or panniers on your bike if you want to buy anything at the market. (If you get carried away and buy too much to carry on your bike, you can always catch the train back home as the market is close to Shoreham train station)
- Please also bring a spare inner tube for your bike in case of punctures (easier to change an inner tube than fix a puncture by the side of the road!)

If you're not sure what an inner tube is, or how to know which size to buy, this little video should help you: https://youtu.be/3uzsEystB-Q

We will ride at the pace of the slowest to make sure no-one gets left behind, and there will be at least one trained ride leader to help with your confidence and safety on the roads and paths.
