Ride through Winter - to the Bay and back, suitable for families

This is the ideal confidence-building family ride for ages 8 and up.

Or come along as an adult without kids and enjoy the company!

Discover the Taff Trail and Cardiff Bay on a flat and mainly traffic-free route.

We’ll ride along the trail from the city centre following the river before we cross over to Penarth and then across Cardiff Bay Barrage.

There’s a coffee stop in the Bay before we come back via Hamadryad Park and Cardiff Bay Wetlands Nature Reserve.

What you need to know:
• Your bike(s) need to be in good working order with the tyres pumped up
• All riders need to be able to steer, control their speed and use their brakes effectively
• Bring spare inner tubes in case of a puncture
• All participants must wear a helmet
• Dress for the weather! Layers (the Bay can be windy), gloves, a waterproof jacket if it’s raining and clothes that allow you to pedal easily
• Parents are responsible for children (maximum 4 children per adult) – there’ll be ride leaders at the front and back who’ll guide everyone along the way
• We go at the pace of the slowest rider and never leave anyone behind!
• Please cancel your place if you’re ill or can’t make it for any other reason and don’t come along if you have Covid symptoms
