This route travels mainly on traffic free paths running through the green open spaces of Perry Meadows Park, Witton Lakes and Brookvale Park. On leaving Kingstanding Leisure Centre there is a small section on local roads near the start and end of the ride.
Once we reach and cycle through Brookvale Park, the route then turns up North Park Rd and follows the sign to the City Centre to Deykin Avenue Canal. There is a small section on the canal until we reach the Powerleague in Lichfield Rd (Salford Park).
On the return we will cycle through Salford Park and under the expressway and back on to the canal and return through the lakes back to the leisure centre.
We will have a 30 min stop at the Powerleague 5-a-side football venue for a refreshment break. They take cash or card and there are cycle racks.
This ride is ideal for those who are returning to cycling or who want to join a shorter ride taking less time out their day. It is great for gaining confidence on local roads and shared cycle pathways and cycling as part of a group. We never leave anyone behind and it is at a relaxed pace.
You will need to have your own bike to join the ride and it is advised and recommended to wear a helmet. We will do a bike check prior to the ride, to check everything is alright before you start the ride.
Please bring a drink with you, and a few inner tubes or puncture kit in case you need to change your tyre.
We look forward to welcoming you and have fun too!
