This 11.4 mile loop starts at Southampton Common heading north along quiet roads and through the Forestry Commission site at Lordswood. The route then picks up the Roman Road route discovering iron age earthworks. There's plenty to see along the way, including the Hawthorns Urban Wildlife Centre on the Common and the Warrior's Memorial dedicated to a horse who served in the First World War. See the highly rated Municipal Golf Course and Chilworth Manor which is now a hotel and conference centre, set in acres of beautiful landscaped gardens.
