Ride the Illuminations "Family Ride"

Come and join this leisurely ride to view the Blackpool Illuminationson its last Friday night This ride will start at 6pm from Lytham Windmill (theres plenty of parking areas nearby, charges apply 09:00 to 18:00) and will use shared access paths and South and North Promenades through St Annes and join the A584, Clifton Drive North to Squires Gate where again we'll join the shared access seafront paths and on to our destination at Bispham. The return will retrace our route back to Lytham where we can enjoy Fish and Chips at Whelan's. The route is approx 17 to 20 miles and with this in mind the minimum age for children must be 9yrs old an be accompanied by a parent / guardian. There is some on road cycling so participants must be traffic aware and ALL bike must have a front and rear light. We also strongly recommend the wearing of helmets for all participants, all children must wear a helmet. Where the route uses shared access paths consideration must be given to other users. Other risks are the proximity of the trams to the shared access paths. The pace will be set by the slowest riders and planned stops will be at Bispham and at the end at Lytham.
