This ride will lead you up to London to join the Freecycle event described below. Once we join the Freecycle route we will complete one loop together and the official ride will end at this point. From then on we will ride as private citizens and you will be able to ride as many loops as you wish as well as spending as much or as little time as you wish at the special festival zones.
Note you will be responsible for making your own arrangements to get home. If you do not wish to cycle home, the route passes close to Charing Cross, Waterloo, Blackfriars and Cannon Street stations which all have regular services back to New Beckenham or Beckenham Hill.
Please only sign up if you are confident about this aspect of the day.
RideLondon FreeCycle is the ultimate ride for all cyclists. Set on a new, traffic-free eight-mile route, the event is a unique opportunity to explore central London by bike on Sunday 29 May – and it's completely free to take part! The route is an accessible but impressive course on traffic-free roads that takes in some of central London's most iconic landmarks – a sightseer's dream!
The 2022 RideLondon FreeCycle route passes some of central London’s most famous locations, from Pall Mall and St Paul’s Cathedral to Southbank and Somerset House. This is the first time in the event’s history that the course will cross over to the south of the Thames, so there is plenty for participants to feast their eyes on as they ride.
The route will also feature four special Festival Zones at Lincoln’s Inn Fields, Waterloo Place, Guildhall Yard and St Paul’s Churchyard and Paternoster Square. Here, riders can pause to enjoy a wealth of fun, free-of-charge activities designed to celebrate cycling and inspire more people from all backgrounds to get on their bikes!
