In 1938 Billie Fleming rode 29,603 miles around the UK & set the women's record for distance cycled in a single year. Inspired by this remarkable woman Breeze Champion Anne Hunt set up the Tribute to Billie,in 2015 women will cycle her route... For more information please see the link below. http://www.tributetobillie.co.uk On the 15th of February various rides will be organized by local Champions and groups of approx.13 miles. Our tribute to Billie ride will set out from Basingstoke through Popley towards Sherborne St. John, passing The Vyne to Bramley. Anticlockwise loop to Little London, heading back to Bramley and Basingstoke. Mostly flat, but a few undulations. It's a steady ride but we'll take the pace of the slowest rider, so no one is left behind. On the way Back we'll stop in at the Swan at Sherborne St. John for a beverage/cake and a natter(so bring money and a bike lock). Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather conditions; helmet is recommended, bring a spare inner tube. Cheers Linda & Laura
