Literary Leicester by Bike!

Part of the University of Leicester’s annual ‘Literary Leicester’ festival, this bike tour will take you to the homes and local haunts of five major writers who lived in the city. Dr Emma Parker will introduce the life and work of Philip Larkin, Anthony Burgess, Joe Orton, Sue Townsend and Jean ‘Binta’ Breeze. Discover how Leicester has inspired poets, novelists and playwrights as you explore the city’s extraordinary literary heritage.

We have a limited number of electric bikes available for use on this ride. Our ecycle loans are free of charge and include a helmet if required. Ecycles must be booked in advance and by 10pm on Wednesday 18th March at the latest, unfortunately any requests received after this date cannot be accommodated. Email [email protected] to enquire about an ecycle loan and a member of our team will get back to you. Please also ensure that you have registered for a place on this ride.

First timers welcome!
