The second in a series of Ride Socials to encourage the Lancashire ride leaders new and old to meet and share ideas and experiences to promote the guided rides in Lancashire and beyond.
Away we go from the Paddock to experience the charming flatlands and Mosses of the South Ribble landscape. Passing Moss Side village green, under Midge Hall we turn southwest towards Bretherton and then south east almost all the way to Newtown on the B5249. Right turn at the Highfield and loop round to the scenic village of Croston.
After Croston we follow Meadow lane and cross over the river Douglas and Leeds Liverpool canal.A brief spell on the A59 takes us to a left turn for our refreshment at Fettlers Wharf (a fine watering hole). We then naturally progress through Mawdesley up to Eccleston over the water & back to Leyland.
The route is very flat and should prove nice and easy and an opportunity to ride and chat.
This route is a tad shorter than the original as a few of the Meanygates and Moss lanes have been badly torn up with agricultural vehicles and presumably a we harvest season.
The shorter route may also encourage the leaders who prefer less distance on rides to join us.

How does that sound? Get on board, confirm via Let's Ride please.
