From the A66, turn onto the B6280 Yarm Road and turn right into Morton Park. At the small roundabout near the Morrisons petrol station, turn left onto Morton Park Way and left again into the Premier Inn / Beefeater car park. Our start/finish point is at the cycle racks located outside the entrance to the Premier Inn and Beefeater pub. Note this is a private parking area, check local restrictions.

Starting from the Beefeater Pub at Morton Park, we ride south out of Darlington via Hurworth, joining route 165 in Neasham, Over Dinsdale, Girsby and Hornby, before heading east into North Yorkshire and through Appleton Wiske, the Rountons, over the A19 and through Hutton Rudby. We then head north and towards Castle Levington, stopping over at HMP Kirklevington Grange. After the pitstop, we carry on north through Yarm, Eaglescliffe, Urlay Nook and Long Newton, before we ride west alongside the A66 and through Sadberge on our way south back to the Beefeater.

This ride is classed as a CHALLENGING ride which is a little over 35 miles in total. The ride is undulating with some hill climbs. The ride is all on the road or cycleways. All bike types suitable for this ride, hybrid or road bikes recommended. It is suitable for riders who are comfortable sustaining around 12mph avg. and can continually cycle for around 3 hours each way. The stopover on this ride will be up to an hour. Bear in mind these times are a guide and the ride can take longer.
